3. Building a movement
Personal Choice works with a wide range of partners across health & social care, voluntary and community groups. We are formal partners with Think Local Act Personal (TLAP), Coalition for Collaborative Care (C4CC) and NHS England (IPC). We have also created links with groups such as People Hub, Helen Sanderson Associates, In Control, Community Catalysts, Shared Lives and many online dementia bloggers.
We will create momentum around the personalisation agenda, ensuring dementia is not ignored. By working together we can achieve more and make the cultural and systemic changes needed to personalise the dementia landscape.
As approved voluntary sector partners for NHS England on IPC (Integrated Personal Commissioning) we're working to ensure that people see their health and social care needs met through a coordinated system by the pooling of health and social care budgets. Find out more about Integrated Personal Commissioning.
Personal Choice Network
We also have a Personal Choice network, linking professionals interested in personalisation and making personal budgets dementia friendly. The Network provides support and advice for local authorities to help them make changes set out in the dementia friendly personal budgets charter, as well as wider support to implement personalisation for people with dementia. If you are interested in finding out more about the network visit, please join our Personal Choice Network mailing list.
In 2017 and 2018 we will be running regional roadshows in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with an opportunity for people to get involved. We're also creating an advisory group of people with dementia and carers to help shape our work, as well as inviting people with lived experience of dementia to join an editorial team for the Personal Choice magazine supplement.
