What research is Alzheimer's Society funding?

We are investing £10 million a year into dementia research. We fund a variety of dementia research projects and initiatives across the UK to help improve care, understand causes and work towards a cure.

Our research aims to understand the underlying causes of the condition, improve diagnosis and care, identifying ways to prevent dementia and searching for a cure.

The Centres of Excellence are a groundbreaking initiative developed by Alzheimer’s Society to address areas in dementia care that are in urgent need of more research.

As a founding charity partner for the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI), Alzheimer’s Society has pledged £50 million towards the single biggest investment in dementia research the UK has ever seen.
