Northern Ireland campaign activity 2020

Learn about our campaign activity in Northern Ireland since the restoration of devolution at the start of the year.

Since the restoration of devolution in January 2020, Alzheimer’s Society has been raising the issues facing people living with dementia and their loved ones in the Northern Ireland Assembly. We have met with the Health Minister Robin Swann MLA and with many members of the NI Assembly Health Committee.

Alzheimer’s Society also works closely with the 11 local Councils across Northern Ireland to ensure the voices of people living with dementia are heard at a local level and help shape the ‘Community Plans’ being drawn up by each Council.

We also engage with the 18 Northern Ireland MPs and Peers from here to ensure that dementia is kept on the agenda in Westminster and to hold the Prime Minister to his commitment to #FixDementiaCare.
