Meeting point

South Shields Memory Walk will start and finish in the event site at Bents Exhibition Park, which is located off Sea Road right by the beach. Find us using postcode NE33 2LD, alternatively enter ///rams.heats.submit into the What3Words App.

Please note, this area is on grass.

Travel information

There is no dedicated event parking, please use surrounding local parking and public transport. Bents Exhibition Park is 1km walk from South Shields Metro. Please consider the most sustainable method of transport, or car share where possible.

Route

There are two routes to choose from on the day of Memory Walk.

A shorter 1.5km route, which is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities.

The longer 7km route has amazing views of the North East coastline, and is more challenging with some muddy patches so don’t forget your wellies and walking boots! This route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to the nature of the pathways.

Please note the route and distance is subject to change, and suitable footwear is recommended.

Accessibility 

The meeting point is on grass. The short route is on pavement and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. There is no dedicated accessible parking.
