Reach the Peak Virtual Climbing Challenge
Take part in our Reach the Peak Facebook challenge and climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest in a month. Choose how you'd like to Reach the Peak, by climbing stairs or measuring your elevation.
What is Reach the Peak?
Reach the Peak is Alzheimer’s Society’s latest Facebook challenge, challenging you to climb 8,848 metres, the height of Mt Everest, between 1 and 30 September 2022.
But don’t worry, we’re not sending you up the mountain! Instead, you can climb that distance from the comfort of your home, outside to you locally or at work.
Climb your stairs
3,871 flights of stairs (15 steps in flight), so climb 129 flights per day.
Measure your elevation
Climb a total of 8,848 metres - that's 294.9 metres per day.
Count your steps
8,848 metres equates to 58,070 steps, so do 1,936 steps a day.
