Fundraising ideas 

Make it a party 

Battle of the bands – get a venue, set a date and ask bands or singers who want to perform and compete for a prize of your choice.   

Bingo night – print out some bingo cards, get a venue and have some fun. Take it to the next level by making it themed!   

Charity ball – get everyone dressed up for the night. Talk to local venues about getting a good deal or free space to host and don’t forget the music! Charge for tickets and have a raffle on the night to raise more money. Get more information about organising a Charity Ball.

Fashion show – ready to strut your stuff down the runway for charity? Sell tickets, refreshments and raffle tickets to raise more money.  

Karaoke night – grab the mic and serenade guests with your best interpretation of popular songs.    

Masked ball – add an air of mystery and ask your guests to attend a ball in a mask. 

Murder mystery – keep your friends close but your enemies closer and hold a murder mystery night!  

Open mic – hold a charity open mic night at a local café or pub. All are welcome!

Poetry slam – ask your local coffee shop or bar to sponsor you and hold a charity poetry slam, you could even theme the poems.

Speed dating – set up in a local hall and invite all. Two minutes to meet someone new, maybe sparks will fly!    

Talent show – gather your friends, family and colleagues for a talent show! 

Make it a work do 

Bake sale – whip out your whisks and make some tasty treats to sell

Brunch at work – start the day right. Depending on your workspace, bring in breakfast (pancakes, cereals, toast, smoothies, juices) and charge for a plate. 

Clothes swap – get everyone to bring in their unwanted clothes to exchange with others in return for a donation of your choice.   

Elf Day – dress up as an elf to help beat dementia!

Fancy dress day – donate to wear an outfit of your choice to the office!  Why not add an extra spin and make it themed 

Morning rave – start your working day with an office rave. This could be a silent disco at your desk or party in your conference room.    

Raffle – organise a raffle or prize draw and sell tickets to your workmates.

Make it easy 

Alcohol go on the wagon for a month and ask your friends and family to sponsor you.

Ebay  – sell unwanted, used or handmade items on Ebay and donate the proceeds. 

Digital detox – can you detox your digital use? Take on the challenge and raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Dress you for a week – friends and family can donate to have the chance to dress you for a week. What will you wear?    

Grow a beard/moustache – Get sponsored to grow a beard or moustache. 

Knitting – put your needles together and knit garments to be sold at fetes, bazaars and Christmas fayres.  

Meatless month – want to cut down on eating meat? Why not try it by being sponsored to quit meat for a month

Sponsored silence – Sssh!   

Yes day – say yes to everyone's demands (within reason!) and ask people to sponsor you to do so. 

Make it sporty 

Aerobics – host your own aerobics class. Rope in some people, turn the music up and get active. 

BMX – organise a BMX fundraising event, or take on your own cycling challenge. Link to OYO cycle.   

Dance-athon – dance from 9am to 5pm or for a full 24 hours and ask for sponsorship.  

Darts match – charge an entry fee, have a raffle and refreshments to raise more money. Make it fun with different competitions, left hand only etc.   

Football tournament – charge for team entry and run a goal competition at half time. 

Fun run – organise your own; you decide the venue and the distance. Try to get a local personality to compete or start the event off. Or, if you do not have time, simply book a place in an officially organised running event and ask friends for sponsorship.   

Golf day – get a golf club to sponsor the event for you. Invite club members and local businessmen and women for the tournament. You could also organise a raffle and auction in the evening.  

 Group workout  – get fit, get active and workout with friends whilst raising money.  

Jumpathon – how long can you jump for? A trampoline is probably best for this, see how much sponsorship you can raise.  

Memory Mile swim – whether you do it in a day or over a number of weeks, swim a Memory Mile for a loved one. 

Obstacle course – set up a back-garden obstacle course or join a wider event in our name.  

Relay run – great for kids, could also be a sponsored sports day activity!  

Rock climbing – who can climb the highest? Who can climb the fastest? Collection entry donations or hold a sweepstake.

Yoga – restore some calm back to your life and hold a group yoga session. 

Make it with friends 

Crafting workshop - find a crafty friend to teach and set up a paid for workshop, donate the proceeds to us.  

Denim for Dementia - from dungarees to jeggings, everybody dons their finest denim for the day at school or work for a small donation.

Dine in for Dementia – Host a dinner party, brunch or bring and share lunch for friends, family or colleagues and cook up a storm in the fight against dementia.

Games night – invite friends, family and colleagues to donate to attend your games night. Have boardgames like Monopoly, Twister, Jenga or Scrabble at the ready, or go digital with a Wii Just Dance competition!  

Pamper party – relax after a busy week and raise some money. Invite your friends round for a night of homemade pampering, charge for entry and enjoy an evening of face masks, scrubs and manicures.  

Race your mates – have a running app or smart watch? Pay £5 each to enter a week, month or yearlong competition to see who reaches the most steps or climbs the most stairs.  

Street party – get to know your neighbours by hosting a street party. Charge for entry with stalls, games, refreshments and raffles.  

Ugly jumper party – get your groove on and invite friends, family and colleagues to wear their ugliest jumper for a £3 donation.
