At home and online: Ideas for people affected by dementia during lockdown

Ideas to help remain active and well while we need to stay at home.

Distancing with Dementia

Find and share ideas to live well with dementia during the coronavirus pandemic on the Distancing with Dementia website.

Set up by the Dementia Change Action Network (DCAN), it also features blogs from people affected by dementia and others.

Youth activities

Our Activities and actions toolkit helps children and young people learn about dementia and what they can do to support people affected by the condition, especially while social distancing and isolating.

LGBT+ ideas

Opening Doors London is sharing activity ideas collected with older lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT+) people in mind.

These include links to podcasts, films and plays, as well as cookery and fitness ideas.

Sporting memories

Sporting Memories Network has a wealth of resources to help people reminisce about watching or playing sport – the Sporting Pink e-newsletter, Sporting Memories Weekly videos, quizzes and puzzles, exercise ideas and more.

Connecting people, connecting support

Occupational therapists and designers share tried and tested activity ideas and resources online on Connecting people, connecting support – everything from music, poetry and relaxation to weaving, technology and telling your story.

The Storybox Project

The Storybox Project is a fun activities programme to engage and include people with dementia, designed for families as well as for groups.
