Dementia has a huge impact on our health and social care system and this will grow significantly in the future. Recent research from our report, the Training Gap, highlighted that in England a third of staff do not have consistent levels of basic dementia knowledge and only 52% feel very competent in the care they provide.

We believe that high quality dementia training for the health and social care workforce can significantly improve the lives of people with dementia and have a significant impact on the health and social care sector.

I feel that this session has given me confidence in myself to identify changes presented to me by residents.
