Travel Information

Event Parking is available at Painshill, please use postcode KT11 1AA and follow signs for Memory Walk on the approach to the venue. 


Please arrive in good time to avoid queues, and note that some parking is on grass.

Meeting Point

Memory Walk will start and finish in the event site at Painshill, which is located just off M25/J10/A3 to London. Please note, this area is on grass. 

Routes

There are two Memory Walk routes – you choose which to walk on the day of the event. Please note all routes and distances are subject to change, and suitable footwear is recommended. 


The shorter 2km walk is a gentle stroll around the lake which is suitable for Memory Walkers of all ages. This route is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs with assistance.


The longer 7km walk is a little more challenging, and will take you further around the park and up a steep hill. This route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to the nature of the pathways.

Accessibility

The meeting point and car parks are on grass. The short route is on paved paths and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. There is dedicated event parking available, please make stewards aware on arrival if you need an accessible parking space.

Safety of all Memory Walk participants, volunteers and staff is our top priority. We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation carefully and working hard to deliver amazing events, whilst following all legal guidance and precautions.

 

All our Memory Walk events hold the 'We’re Good To Go' industry standard, which means you can be reassured we have everything in place to keep you safe. Each event has been thoroughly risk-assessed and we've implemented a number of processes and measures from the guidance provided by the Government. 

 

Memory Walk may look a little different this year, but it will still retain the amazing atmosphere that makes the event so special! Check out the below and our event safety guide for more information.


What to expect

 

-   Multiple waves of walkers, meaning smaller numbers of participants in the event site and on the route, at any one time.

-   Separate start and finish points for our routes.

-   Reduced touchpoints to minimise contact between walkers and volunteers.

-   Hand sanitiser at regular intervals within the event site.

-   A site layout that still allows for social distancing between households of participants and volunteers.

-   One way and queuing systems in specific areas of the event, such as our merchandise tent.

-   Face coverings will be encouraged in any areas where 1m+ social distancings cannot be maintained.
