Step inside dementia: How does a person with dementia see the world?

One day public access course - £129 (including the Foundation Certificate in Dementia Awareness exam)

See the world through the eyes of someone living with dementia during this introductory, interactive course. You will learn what is happening to a person with dementia and learn how to build positive relationships using increased knowledge, empathy and practical skills.

Dementia care for homecare providers - train the trainer

One day public access course created in collaboration with UKHCA - from £169

This train the trainer course has been created specifically for the homecare sector by Alzheimer’s Society and UKHCA, the membership association for homecare providers. The training is designed to support homecare providers ensure best practice when training their staff to deliver high quality care to service users who have been diagnosed with or who are at risk of developing dementia.

The training has been developed to cover all aspects of care and support and is based on ‘The well pathway for dementia'.

Delegates attending this workshop will receive a detailed and comprehensive Dementia Care training pack, which is a cost effective and flexible training resource and will give your team the confidence to deliver consistent high quality dementia care.

This pack includes a trainer’s handbook, PowerPoint presentations, exercises, handouts and competency tests. UKHCA’s trainers are all specialist trainers, with relevant qualifications, in-depth knowledge and work-based experience in the sector.
