Winning designs for Alzheimer’s Society’s 2023 Christmas cards

We reveal the winners of our Alzheimer’s Society competition to create designs for our 2023 Christmas cards.

Frances Isaacs in Powys has won our 2023 Christmas card competition with a striking painting of people walking their dogs in the snow.

Frances, who lives with posterior cortical atrophy, runs an online art class for people with dementia. She painted the winning image after they’d discussed producing Christmas cards for friends.

‘That was my demonstration piece,’ says Frances, ‘showing them you can do this with minimal colours and the red and blue standing out.

‘I was very pleasantly surprised to win the competition – I never win anything!’

Buy ‘Love Walking in the Snow’ on a 14x14cm card with ‘Season’s Greetings’ inside for just £3.99 for a pack of 10 from our shop.

Three runner-up images are also available as e-cards from our online shop for a donation (you decide how much).

These include another image from Frances along with two from Pamela Turley in Essex.

Pamela was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia in 2019. She is a self-taught artist, after finding how well painting worked as therapy.
