What is Trek26?

Trek26 is a series of treks in stunning locations across England and Wales. Trekkers have the option to trek either 26 or 13 miles. Thousands of people take on the challenge each year to raise money in support of people with dementia.

Why we need you!

Trekking a marathon or half-marathon is no mean feat so we love to give our trekkers as much support as possible on the day. This could be a cup of tea at one of our rest stops, a friendly word of encouragement on the route, or a triumphant cheer across the finish line. We can guarantee that it means the world to our trekkers.

This role will be perfect for you if you are:

• Friendly, welcoming and enjoy being part of a large event.
• Flexible and willing to take on a variety of different tasks as needed.
• A good communicator and are comfortable talking to people from all walks of life.

The route

Both routes will start and finish at Postlip Farm just outside Cheltenham which sits underneath Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds. The routes will take a circular route North, utilising parts of the famous Cotswold Way before looping down to Cleeve Hill itself with incredible views across the hills.

Rest Stop Volunteers

As a rest stop volunteer you will be:

  • Chatting to trekkers and checking on their wellbeing
  • Making hot drinks/fill water bottles
  • Encourage trekkers to take snacks
  • Explaining the next section of the route and offering encouragement

*Most of our rest stops are in rural locations so we ask that rest stop volunteers have a car.
