Volunteers changing research for the better
Alzheimer’s Society has championed the active involvement of people affected by dementia in research for nearly two decades through our Research Network volunteers.
‘Researchers are have a particular point of view, a scientific point of view but we are coming from a personal level to something that is very close to us'
- Kieran, volunteer
Join our Research Network to support and improve research for all those living with dementia today and in the future. The network is for people with dementia, carers and former carers. No scientific knowledge or research experience is required.
Become a Research Network volunteer
Anyone personally affected by dementia can get involved. Find out more about our Research Network.
If you are a dementia researcher funded by Alzheimer's Society and would like support from our PPI volunteers, please contact our team.
However, if you are funded by another organisation, find out more about PPI support through our Research partnerships programme.
Seeing the impact
We have always been aware that researchers and volunteers value and enjoy collaborating together to drive forward dementia research. We have now gathered evidence to demonstrate the impact patient and public involvement (PPI) has had in recent years.
