2017 Dementia Research Leaders award winners announced

May 2017: Winners of the Dementia Research Leaders awards announced for our two categories, Rising Star in dementia research and Outstanding early-career contribution to dementia research.

The winners of the 2017 Dementia Research Leaders awards have been announced.

There were two categories, Rising Star in dementia research and Outstanding early career contribution to dementia research. 

The overall winner in the Rising Star category was Penny Rapaport from University College London. There were also three runners-up - Tom Russ from the University of Edinburgh, Tamara Backhouse from the University of East Anglia and Sana Suri from the University of Oxford.

The overall winner in the Outstanding contribution category was Francesco Aprile from the Univeristy of Cambridge. Mario Parra of Heriot-Watt University received the runner up prize.
