South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge 2026

The challenge

A fantastic South West summer challenge, taking in the first Minehead section of the famous 630-mile Coastal Path and a basecamp in the shadows of the impressive Dunster Castle. 

The 50km loop then heads over Exmoor with ups and downs and some magnificent views with over 1600 metres of climb. You can take it on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run while raising money for Alzheimer's Society! Sign up as an individual or as a team - you’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food and drink, optional camping and transfers, a special medal, t-shirt and celebration finish. 

With 25km & 10km options also available – there’s a challenge for everyone! Push yourself further in 2026, take on an Ultra Challenge – the UK’s number one series of treks and trail challenges.

The route

Distance options 

• Full Challenge (50km) - Dunster loop
• 1st Half (25km) - Dunster to Porlock
• 2nd Half (25km) - Porlock to Dunster
• 25km Dunster loop 

Fundraising

You'll pay a small registration fee and then get fundraising for Alzheimer's Society! You only need to raise half of the fundraising target three weeks ahead of the South West 50 Ultra Challenge to confirm your place, you can then top up the rest during, and after, the challenge!

• 50km Challenge: £40 registration fee + £375 in fundraising
• 25km Challenge: £30 registration fee + £275 in fundraising
• 10km Challenge: £20 registration fee + £100 in fundraising

You can also do mixed funding and pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise less:

• 50km Challenge: £75 registration fee + £225 in fundraising
• 25km Challenge: £50 registration fee + £150 in fundraising
• 10km Challenge: £22.50 registration fee + £70 in fundraising
