This year, we are doing something very special.
Not only are we back in person once again to celebrate Christmas at the beautiful Southwark Cathedral, but, if you can’t make it, the event will be streamed online so you can get cosy and enjoy the festivities from the warmth of your own home.
So, bring your family and friends and join us at Southwark Cathedral, or from the comfort of your sofa, for an uplifting and festive evening of music and celebration.
Carols at Christmas will then be available for the rest of December for you to watch at your convenience.
What to expect from Carols at Christmas
We will bring you the sound of a joyful gospel choir, your favourite carols and readings and musical performances from very special guests. Join us to bring in the Christmas season with a bang while raising money for anyone affected by dementia.
This year we are so pleased to announce columnist, author, broadcaster and restaurant critic, Grace Dent as our host for the evening. Grace will be joined by DJ and presenter Arielle Free. Not only that, but we are also excited to confirm Britain’s Got Talent Semi-finalists, Shalom Chorale, as our choir - bringing their soulful gospel vibes to the festivities.
Alongside the choir we will have other musical performers - Classical Reflection and Bea Anderson. Singer/songwriter Andy Huntley will be performing a family-produced song released to raise funds and awareness for dementia. The track is a tribute to Andy’s mother Ceri, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease two years ago. We are so pleased to have him perform his very special track for you on the night.
We will also have a number of special guests joining us throughout the evening. You can expect to see award-winning actor and third time Carols at Christmas guest, Sir Jonathan Pryce CBE, broadcaster, writer and former politician Ed Balls and star of the Crown, Lesley Manville CBE.
There’ll be something for everyone to enjoy – from carol classics to modern favourites. You can sing along with our choir, dance with friends and family and enjoy being with one another for Christmas after a difficult period for us all.
