Unite against dementia for the Insurance Day of Giving
What is The Insurance Day of Giving?
The Insurance Day of Giving is a chance for the insurance sector to unite for a day to fundraise and raise awareness of dementia. You can take part in a fundraising event in the lead up to the day or you can host something on the day itself in November. The possibilities are endless!
Almost half of the 300,000 people working in the UK insurance sector will be affected by dementia in their lifetime, either directly or through a loved one.
This Insurance Day of Giving, on 4 November, we want as many people as possible in the industry to pledge their support.
When we stand united, we can have a big impact. Last year, the Insurance Day of Giving raised an amazing £100,000 for our vital services to help us provide support for even more people affected by dementia.
'As an industry that prides itself on protecting people and society in times of crisis, we must play our part in combatting the devastating effects of dementia.
'The Insurance Day of Giving is an opportunity for everyone across the industry to come together and make that difference. No matter how big or small, every donation counts.'
- Andy Tedstone - Group Broking and Placement Director, PIB Insurance Broker, and IUAD board member

Funding vital dementia support
There are currently around 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. This is projected to reach 1.6 million by 2040.
The recent coronavirus pandemic has left most of these people cut off from the vital networks and loved ones that support them to perform everyday tasks and routines. In some cases, social isolation can irreversibly accelerate their condition.
Alzheimer’s Society is the only place many of these people can turn to, making our frontline services vital for hundreds of thousands of people.
The Day of Giving is an opportunity for the insurance industry to come together to support essential frontline services and have a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by dementia. You’ll be helping people like Peter, whose story you can view below.
