What is Elf Day?

On the first Wednesday of December every year, we celebrate Elf Day. A time when workplaces, clubs, groups of friends and families across the UK come together to make a difference for people affected by dementia. Elf Day is a festive period and a chance to have fun while raising awareness and vital funds for Alzheimer's Society.

This year Elf Day will be the 2 December. You can register for your free fundraising guide starting the 1 September.

What difference will I make? 

Last year we raised more than ever before, hitting and then surpassing our £100,000 goal for Elf Day! 

This year, we are even more ambitious and need to raise £115,000 because we know that every year matters in ending the devastation of dementia.

Every pound counts, £100 could help fund a Community Dementia Adviser provide face-to-face support for families.

Whether they're supporting someone living with dementia, a carer, or an entire family, this support is invaluable when it comes to navigating the maze of dementia.

How can I take part? 

Taking part is easy! Whether you dress up as an elf to collect sponsors and donations, run desk games, host bake sales or take on festive challenges, we have plenty of ideas for you to join in the fun. 

You can host your event whenever and wherever you like – at work or anywhere in your local community. If you can’t make the date, don’t worry! You can choose any date that suits you over the festive period.

How can I boost my fundraising? 

When you sign up to Elf Day, you’ll receive an email with your free digital fundraising pack, full of tips, ideas and resources with everything you need to host your Elf Day! We've gone green for Elf Day and are only offering digital fundraising guides to help reduce our impact on the environment and reach our sustainability targets. We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment.

Anyone can take part in Elf Day, from workplaces, clubs and schools to groups of friends. It’s a fun way for any group of people to come together and make a real difference this festive season.

Elf Day will be open to registrations from the 1 September 2026. After signing up, you’ll receive an email confirming your sign up that includes your Elf Day Fundraising Pack. You should receive this pack right away.
