I still think of that first call to Alzheimer’s Society. It made me feel I wasn’t alone.

– Pete, who lives with Alzheimer’s disease

You’re helping us understand dementia

We're calling for rapid improvements to diagnosis and support. To bring the realities of living with dementia out into the open, we commissioned a report to document the experiences of people all over the UK.

Our survey captures the voices of almost 3,500 people, ranging from stressful diagnoses to differences in accessing support and the impact on carers. We will use these findings to inspire governments, local authorities and communities to take action.

Propelling us closer to earlier diagnosis

Around a third of people living with dementia in the UK do not have a diagnosis, meaning they’re missing out on vital care and support.

We're making progress toward faster, more accurate and less invasive diagnosis. This year, we launched the ADAPT trial as part of the Blood Biomarker Challenge. This trial, funded by Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer’s Research UK and players of People’s Postcode Lottery, aims to introduce a simple blood test to aid early dementia diagnosis, giving families more time to plan ahead.

Thank you for all your continued support, together we will beat dementia.
