External Members

Independent specialists who support the work of our Board Committees.

External Members play a vital role in supporting the governance of Alzheimer’s Society. They bring specialist skills, professional expertise and independent insight that strengthens and complements the work of our Trustees across the Board Committees.

Each Committee is chaired by a Trustee and includes Trustees too. Where focused assurance or technical expertise is required, a Committee, such as the Audit and Risk Committee, may establish a time-limited Task and Finish Group to provide oversight, challenge and recommendations on a defined subject area.

External Members volunteer their time to the Society and typically serve for a defined period, ensuring continuity while enabling us to benefit from a broad range of experience over time.
