Memory Cafes are a place where those with memory loss and their carer or family find support and signposts to more formal help if so desired. They were opened to enhance the wellbeing and the quality of life of those who have memory loss – whether diagnosed or not, together with those of the carers. They are not a day care centre but a regular afternoon of social activity and support – in fact, as many carers say – they are a lifeline. The cafés offer opportunities through activities such as: music; dance; entertainment; exercise; paper therapies and the all-important social time together. They are fun, friendly and free. Please have a look at the website for the latest opening times and café details, which vary from café to café.
