About the service
Beyond Dementia's Mill Street Club offers a relaxed, informal day with small group activities for members who wish to join in and strong links with the local community. High ratios of one staff member or trained volunteer to two club members mean that individual choices and preferences can be accommodated. A home-cooked lunch is served each day. Recent activities included art therapy, weaving, cookery, board games, reminiscence therapy including using the club's iPad, dance, poetry and prose and a wide range of visitors from the local community. Members are joined at least twice a week by therapy volunteer dogs.
