These policies and guidance documents are here to support you in your volunteering at Alzheimer’s Society. If you are unsure about anything, please contact your volunteer role manager or your main staff contact.

Safeguarding adults policy and procedure - outlines our commitment to adults at risk (a category of adults with care and support needs). 

Safeguarding children policy and procedure - details our commitment to the safeguarding of children.

Professional boundaries guidance - maintaining suitable professional boundaries is essential to our work supporting people affected by dementia. This policy outlines the standards and approach we expect from our people.

Information management policy - outlines how everyone should handle information (including personal information) at the Society. 

Information security policy - explains how you are expected to use our technologies, services and equipment. 

Information management standard - outlines how to manage data and information on a practical level. 

Whistleblowing policy - guidance on how to raise concerns.

Bullying and harassment policy - explains how to raise a concern and what support is available.

Counter fraud factsheet - outlines how to identify fraud, bribery and corruption, and how to report any concerns.

Counter fraud and theft policy - explains how to protect the Society from fraud and theft. The policy also protects our people by helping them to identify both offences, so that incidents can be addressed as soon as possible, hopefully before any irreversible damage has occurred.

Equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) policy - explains what we’re doing, and what you need to do to play your part in making Alzheimer’s Society a place where everyone feels welcome, respected and valued. 

Fundraising policy - outlines approach to fundraising, including the way we approach refunds and accept donations from vulnerable people.

Health and safety policy - covers the aims, commitment, and arrangements put in place by Alzheimer’s Society to ensure we meet our legal obligations and protect our people’s health, safety and wellbeing.
