Discover all our current opportunities you can get involved in.
If you're someone living with dementia, a carer, or both, you can use your personal experiences to help shape the work we do at Alzheimer's Society. You don't need any specific skills or experience; everyone has something valuable to contribute.
You can get involved as much or as little as you like, and we’re here to support what works for you. We understand that everybody’s availability and capacity varies and can fluctuate, so there is no set time expectation.
Please note that there's no payment for taking part in these opportunities, unless specifically mentioned.

The opportunity
We’re bringing together a working group of people affected by dementia to help us design a new Listening Framework. Over nine months, we’ll work together to make how we listen more representative and involve more people in shaping our work and decisions.
Your experiences will guide what this framework becomes. We’re bringing together a working group of people affected by dementia to help us design a new Listening Framework. Over nine months, we’ll work together to make how we listen more representative and involve more people in shaping our work and decisions. Your experiences will guide what this framework becomes.
Why you should get involved
We’re inviting you to build a framework that reflects real life and includes more people in our involvement work and decision‑making. By working together, you’ll shape what we listen to, how we theme and share learning, and how feedback leads to change.
Your input will help the Society hear from a wider, more representative mix of people and communities, strengthen trust and accountability, and ensure decisions are informed by lived experience of dementia.
What you'll be doing
You’ll co‑create how listening works in practice. This may include sharing experiences, suggesting priorities, testing ideas, and reviewing draft materials and feedback loops. You’ll help make the framework inclusive, usable and representative, so more people are heard and see how their contributions influence what the Society does.
Where and when is the opportunity?
We will meet online, probably every two or three weeks for an hour; the final schedule will be agreed with the group once established.

The opportunity
This project brings together all the different ways people can find help and information online. For example, our online communities, the Dementia Directory, and other support resources. It’s designed to make things easier for people at every stage of their dementia journey, whether that is getting a diagnosis, adjusting to life with dementia or requiring greater support with care.
Why you should get involved
We would like to hear from those living with dementia, and those closest to them. We want to understand parts of your dementia experience including the areas of legal and financial planning, your experience as a carer (if applicable), and how your geographical location has impacted your experience.
We encourage those from LBGTQ+ and BAME communities reach out to us; as we seek a broad range of experiences to ensure we can develop the most appropriate solutions.
What you'll be doing
We will ask you to take part in an hour-long one-to-one interview, in which a facilitator and notetaker would be present. The facilitator will ask questions and may dive further into topics raised by you. The session, with your permission, would be recorded.
Where and when is the opportunity?
The one-to-one interviews will be held online via Zoom or Teams.
Interviews will take place from 16th February over a two week period.
