What is Trek26?
Trek26 is a series of treks in stunning locations across England and Wales. Trekkers have the option to trek either 26 or 13 miles. Thousands of people take on the challenge each year to raise money in support of people with dementia.
Why we need you!
Trekking a marathon or half-marathon is no mean feat so we love to give our trekkers as much support as possible on the day. This could be a cup of tea at one of our rest stops, a friendly word of encouragement on the route, or a triumphant cheer across the finish line. We can guarantee that it means the world to our trekkers.
This role will be perfect for you if you are:
• Friendly, welcoming and enjoy being part of a large event.
• Flexible and willing to take on a variety of different tasks as needed.
• A good communicator and are comfortable talking to people from all walks of life.
The route
Both routes start and finish at Wells-next-the-Sea, a pretty coastal village on the Norfolk Coast.
Beginning in the grand setting of Holkham Hall, 26-mile walkers set out west through rolling countryside towards the Burnhams. The trail leads into Burnham Thorpe, before continuing on to the picturesque harbour at Burnham Overy Staithe. Here, sweeping saltmarshes of the Norfolk Coast Landscape open up, with paths winding back past Holkham beach - a breath-taking expanse of golden sand framed by pine woods and dunes.
The route then turns east, joining the 13-mile walkers as it continues into Wells-next-the-Sea. A working fishing town with a bustling quayside, colourful beach huts and big skies that seem to stretch forever. From here, the path heads inland across peaceful farmland and open countryside, offering glimpses of wildlife and big Norfolk horizons. Both routes finish back at Holkham Hall, past the famous Obelisk.
