The challenge

A 50km looped challenge in some of the Chilterns finest countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, with fantastic views. Join up to 2,000 adventurers and take it on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run while fundraising for Alzheimer's Society! 

Sign up as an individual or as a team - you’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food and drink, optional camping and transfers, a special medal, t-shirt and celebration finish. With 25km and 10km options also available there’s a Chilterns Challenge for everyone! Push yourself further in 2026, take on an Ultra Challenge – the UK’s number one series of treks and trail challenges! 

The route

Distance options

• Full Challenge (50km) - Henley loop
• Half Challenge (25km) - Henley loop (but shorter!)
• 10km looped route from the basecamp at Henley Showground.  The route explores public footpaths  & wonderful woodlands within the Culden Faw estate.

Fundraising

You'll pay a small registration fee and then get fundraising for Alzheimer's Society! You only need to raise half of the fundraising target three weeks ahead of the Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge to confirm your place, you can then top up the rest during, and after, the challenge!

• Full Challenge (50km): £40 registration fee + £375 in fundraising
• Half Challenge (25km): £30 registration fee + £275 in fundraising
• 10km Challenge: £20 registration fee + £100 in fundraising

You can also do mixed funding and pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise less:

• Full Challenge (50km): £75 registration fee + £225 in fundraising
• Half Challenge (25km): £50 registration fee + £150 in fundraising
• 10km Challenge: £22.50 registration fee + £70 in fundraising
