Musician Glen Campbell dies of Alzheimer’s disease aged 81
Musician, Glen Campbell, has died aged 81, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive of Alzheimer's Society, said:
'We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Glen Campbell, following his long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Our thoughts are with Glen's family and friends at this difficult time.
'We were lucky enough to work with Glen during his 2011 Goodbye tour, collecting vital funds as he played at venues across the UK. We cannot thank him enough for his support and in helping to raise awareness of this cruel condition.
'With dementia set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer, the need for support has never been greater. As the only leading cause of death that we can’t cure, prevent or slow down, it is imperative that we all unite against dementia to help provide information and support to anyone affected.'
