Why collect for the Forget Me Not Appeal?

You can make a huge impact by giving just a couple of hours of your time to collect at your local Morrisons this June.

Your dedication means we are one step closer to helping people living with dementia get the support and care they need.

Whatever your reason for collecting, join a collection and help end the devastation caused by dementia.

Please note: If you are based in Northern Ireland and interested in collecting, please email [email protected].

The difference your Forget Me Not Appeal collection can make

In 2024 we raised an incredible £128,000 across our collections week, thanks to our amazing collectors!
This year we hope you will join us to make it an even bigger success and support those living with dementia.

Frequently asked questions

All we ask is you are friendly, enthusiastic and ready to join in! There are no specific skills required, and we will be there to help every step of the way.

Due to the nature of this role, we can only accept over 18s as volunteers.

You’ll receive updates from the team in the lead up to your collection which will provide you with everything you need to know before the day, so keep an eye on your inbox and check your junk folder.

These updates will include information about where to go, briefings for your collection, and what to expect on the day.

We may also contact you by phone or text message in case we need to update you with vital information.

If you’re collecting at a Morrisons store, you’ll be sent a volunteer pack, including an Alzheimer’s Society t-shirt, to your home address before the collection takes place. This will include a briefing on everything you need to know about your role for the day and what to do on arrival at your chosen Morrisons store.

Volunteers in Northern Ireland will be contacted by your Regional Fundraiser separately about your volunteer materials.

If you are part of a team or want to bring a friend to collect with you, we would love for you to come along. Sign up to volunteer together by choosing the same slot on the form when you each sign up.

You can’t bring any young children or dependents with you to collect.

Please let us know of any needs on the sign up form you think may affect your volunteering experience. We’ll be in touch with you to follow up if we need more information to support you.

Every location is different, and because we won’t be at every store, we can’t guarantee to meet every need. If you would like to check in advance, please email [email protected]

Alzheimer Scotland are looking after volunteers taking part at Scottish stores and will benefit from the donations collected in Scotland. To sign up to one of these collections, please contact Alzheimer Scotland on [email protected].

Make sure when you sign in at the Morrisons customer kiosk that you provide your registration plate.

If you can, consider using public transport to get to your store.

If you volunteered this year and received a fine at a Morrisons car park, please email [email protected]

We’ve sent a survey out to volunteers to find out about your experience. This is the best place for comments to be collated.

If you need to add anything else, please email [email protected].

We understand sometimes things crop up which mean you can no longer volunteer at the event. Please include your full name, the site you were due to collect at and the date of your collection.

You can also phone us on 0330 333 0804.

The role of a collector plus is to ensure the collection area is set up and ready to go at the start of collections week. You can find out more in our Collector plus information sheet.
