Get involved from your home
Learn how people affected by dementia can get involved in conversations using video and phone calls.
Would you like to get involved from home?
We have a regular programme of calls, including:
- Local groups
- Dementia Voice national group for people living with dementia, which happens on Wednesdays
- Dementia Voice national group, for family, carers and friends of people living with dementia, which happens on Fridays
- Equality, diversity and inclusion groups, which enable people to have a voice who may otherwise not be 'heard' so easily, such as:
- people with rare dementias
- younger people affected by dementia
- people affected by dementia in very rural areas
- people affected by dementia who are from ethnic minority groups
- people affected by dementia who are part of the LGBTQ+ community
How to join an involvement video or phone call
After you sign up to a call, we'll send you an email with:
- a link to click if you want to join the call on video
- a phone number, so, if you want, you can just join the call by audio, without video
The first time you use Zoom, which is free, you will be prompted to download it. So we suggest you do this a day or two before the call. We can provide information about how to download the app, if you don't already have it on your computer, tablet or phone.
We'll also provide instructions about how to join in the conversation and agree some 'ground rules' during the call to help us all take turns to speak.
