Take on a challenge you’ve always dreamed of – or conquer a fear you’ve always had.

Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. It affects us all. At Alzheimer’s Society, we know the steps it will take to create a future where dementia no longer devastates lives. And we’re leading the way, with people from all the spheres of life dementia touches.

Only together can we beat dementia – by giving vital support to those who need it, funding groundbreaking research, and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.

It will take a society to beat dementia. Alzheimer's Society.

Top adrenaline event ideas

The sky is (quite literally) the limit when it comes to fundraising! If you’re ready to take your challenge to new heights, here are some thrilling ideas to get you started:

  • Abseil
Take the leap and abseil from breath-taking heights – a heart-pounding adventure you’ll never forget!
  • Zip wire
Soar through the air and enjoy breath-taking views as you zip towards your fundraising goal.
  • Wing walk
Strap in and feel the rush as you walk on the wings of a plane mid flight, just like Rachel (below).
  • Bungee jump
Take the plunge and experience the ultimate free fall – all for a great cause.

Fundraising tips to boost your total

  • Set a fundraising target – and raise it when you hit it. Targets help motivate donors and can lift the overall amount raised.
  • Tell your story and add photos/videos. Share why you’re taking on this challenge; personal stories inspire people to give.
  • Kick start with a self donation and ask close contacts first. Early momentum builds confidence and credibility for new donors.
  • Ask about matched giving. Many employers will match what you raise, doubling your impact.

Rachel's story

Why would you want to stand on a perfectly good plane?

A woman stands on a small aeroplane wing, strapped to a safety device

Rachel completed a wing walk for her uncle, and for everyone affected by dementia

Ten years after losing her uncle to Alzheimer’s disease, and weeks after hearing that a school friend had also been diagnosed, at just 37, Rachel strapped in for a wing walk.

She turned nerves into action and raised £1,337 to help fund vital dementia support and research. Thank you Rachel!
