The challenge

The North Downs provides a fabulous challenge from a Guildford basecamp, with a looped 50 km route which takes in some of the best of the Surrey hills and the surrounding countryside. You can take it on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run while fundraising for Alzheimer's Society! 

A route with some wonderful scenery and fabulous views out to the south and easily accessible from London Sign up as an individual or as a team - you’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food and drink, optional camping and transfers, a special medal, t-shirt and celebration finish. 

With 25km and 10km options also available – there’s a summer challenge here for everyone! Push yourself further in 2026, take on an Ultra Challenge – the UK’s number one series of treks and trail challenges.

The route

• 50km loop starts at basecamp near Guildford we set out Saturday morning for a continuous 50km challenge – finishing back at in Guilford
• 25km loops out from Guildford early Saturday morning, along some of the most picturesque parts of the Surrey Hills  Way
• 10km loop through Littleton pas Loseley Park

Fundraising

You'll pay a small registration fee and then get fundraising for Alzheimer's Society! You only need to raise half of the fundraising target three weeks ahead of the North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge to confirm your place, you can then top up the rest during, and after, the challenge!

• 50km Challenge: £40 registration fee + £375 in fundraising
• 25km Challenge: £30 registration fee + £275 in fundraising
• 10km Challenge: £20 registration fee + £100 in fundraising

You can also do mixed funding and pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise less:

• 50km Challenge: £75 registration fee + £225 in fundraising
• 25km Challenge: £50 registration fee + £150 in fundraising
• 10km Challenge: £22.50 registration fee + £70 in fundraising
