Services offered

• Carers Information Programme
  Series of information sessions for carers, held over a six week period, three times per year. Topics include: what is dementia? legal/financial issues, strategies for coping and welfare benefits. Transport is available to carers.
• Carers liaison project
  Information and support provided to carers of people with dementia on a one to one basis. Carers can be visited in their own home or at a mutually convenient venue.
• Dementia Information and support
  Support and information provided via telephone, email or personal contact
• Holiday and Day Trips
  When grants available - holidays and day trips for carers and persons with dementia
• Look After Yourself Project
  The group provides an opportunity for current carers and people who have been bereaved in the past 2 years to meet with others and receive support in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, whilst also having the opportunity of participating in a leisure activity or learn a new skill.
• Monthly social support meeting for anyone associated with dementia
  Monthly social support meeting Last Thursday of the month at 7-9pm
• Newsletter
  Newsletter sent all members once per quarter
• Organised Events
  Hospital fetes, memory walks, variey evenings and fashion shows. Alzheimer's Awareness Week and giving talks to other organisations.
• Share and Care Project
  Individual therapeutic support within the service users own home, in order to maintain his/her independance as far as is possible. Respite and support to the service user's carer(s) as appropriate, to enable them to continue in their caring role.
• Siop Pant y Coed
  Visitors can enjoy refreshments. Gifts, toiletries and incontinence products are for sale.
• Support group
  Small, confidential, monthly support group for current carers of people with dementia, where there is an opportunity for members to share emotions. Once formed the group remains closed for 6 months
• Volunteer Project
  Recruiting & Managing Volunteers to work in a variety of roles - volunteer driving, befriending, providing support at Tonna Hospital, providing a trolley service at NPT Hospital, assisting at localised 'satellite club' run by the community mental health team, running a monthly 'friendly club', fundraising; street collections, assisting at fetes etc.
