Services offered
- Advocacy
The advocate protects the rights of those who have dementia, enabling them to have an independent voice and make their wishes known. All available options are offered to enable the client to make their own decisions. They will attend meetings with social services or health professionals on their behalf. - Alz Café
Alz Café is held every other month and provides a social, non-threatening environment where younger people with early onset dementia can come together with their families and friends to meet with others in similar circumstances. The café provides an opportunity for the person with dementia, their carers and families to gather information and hear speakers on subjects helpful to them. - Centre Club
Centre club is held weekly on a Tuesday to meet the needs of people with a diagnosis of dementia who are under 70 years of age at referral and provides carer respite. Referral can be made from Social & Caring Services, Health, GPs, Voluntary Organisations, Carers and Service Users. Hot lunch is provided. Tuesday 10.00am to 3.00pm. Daily charge of £12.00. - CrISP Information Programme West Sussex
CrISP 1 (Carer Information and Support Programme) is a structured six week programme of workshops designed to support family members and friends caring for people with a recent diagnosis of dementia. CrISP 2 (Carer Information and Support Programme) is a structured four week course for the same group of people, although they will have been living with dementia for a more significant amount of time and the subject matter will support this. - Home Support Respite Service West Sussex
Respite Care Service provides experienced care support workers trained in dementia care to support people with dementia in their own homes, providing carers with a much needed break of 3 hours once a week. The service is registered with CQC and rated "Excellent". Hourly charges apply. A private service is also available, for further information please telephone 01903 262666. - West Sussex - Coastal Carers Support Groups
Provide monthly peer support for carers of people with dementia. This gives the carers a chance to meet with others in a similar situation and to learn from one anothers experiences. Speakers on a variety of subjects are sometimes invited to attend the meetings. We are also able to provide respite care in a separate room during the meetings for the person with dementia. A small team of Support Workers will care for the people with dementia in a group setting providing socialisation and engaging them in activities if appropriate. Refreshments available.
