• Advocacy (Leicester City)
  The Advocacy service is a free and independent service working with people with dementia, their families and carers throughout Leicester City. Advocacy is about helping you to speak up for yourself or having someone to speak on your behalf if you need it. The advocacy service is sensitive to any particular cultural, language or other communication needs you may have. The aim of the service seeks to influence social change and disadvantage by enabling those who experience disempowerment to have a direct say in the issues that affect their lives.
• Alzheimer's Society Drop in (Blaby)
  An informal cafe group for both people with memory problems/dementia and their families/carers. Bacon butties and tea/coffee are available for a voluntary donation of £1. 2nd and 4th Thursday every month from 10am-12noon. The Pavilion, Sportsfield Lane, Huncote. LE9 3BN
• Ashby de la Zouch Carers Support Group
  An opportunity for carers of anyone with memory problems or dementia to take a break from caring responsibilities, share experiences and learn in a supportive environment, with speakers or activities arranged to provide information or for entertainment. Refreshments are provided but a voluntary donation of 50p is appreciated. Group meets 3rd Monday every month 1.30 - 3pm at: Legion House, South Street, Ashby de la Zouch. LE65 1BQ
• Dementia Adviser - Hinckley & Bosworth
  Our Dementia Adviser service will give you information you need to make the right decisions. Your Dementia Adviser is trained to ensure that you make the most out of life by guiding you to all the information you need. They will also tell you about the services which can support you and your family. You can choose the way you have contact with our Dementia Adviser in the way that suits you best, whether it's by phone, email or face to face. Best of all, the Alzheimer's Society will ensure that you have your own named Dementia Adviser. This service is for people in the Hinckley & Bosworth area. Access to the Dementia Adviser service is through your GP.
• Dementia Support (Leicestershire)
  A service which provides support and information for carers of people first diagnosed with dementia, as well as those who've been caring for some time. Support can also be offered to those living on their own with dementia. The service is provided over the telephone or through a home visit, and additionally can provide advice about other services which will aid the carer and the person with dementia.

• Ensemble Cafe
  Social cafe/group with tea/biscuits (50p donation) with speakers/activities, attended by people with dementia/memory problems and carers/families. 1st Wednesday in the month 10.30am - 12noon at The Edge, Dalby Road, Melton Mowbray.
• Loughborough carers support group
  An opportunity for carers of anyone with memory problems or dementia to take a break from caring responsibilities, share experiences and learn in a supportive environment, with speakers or activities arranged to provide information or for entertainment. Refreshments are provided but a voluntary donation of 50p is appreciated. 4th Wednesday every month from 1.30pm - 3pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Royland Road, Loughborough. LE11 2EH

  An opportunity for carers of anyone with memory problems or dementia to take a break from caring responsibilities, share experiences and learn in a supportive environment, with speakers or activities arranged to provide information or for entertainment. Refreshments are provided but a voluntary donation of 50p is appreciated. 1st Thursday every month from 1.30pm - 3pm at Ashley Room, Congregational Church Centre, High Street, Market Harborough.   Carers support group. Informal group with tea/biscuits (50p donation) with speakers or activities. Held last Wednesday every month, 2pm - 3.30pm at Gloucester House, Norman Way, Melton Mowbray.

• Side by Side
  The Side by Side Befriending Service is a unique scheme tailored to meet the needs of people in the early stages of dementia who reside at home in the City of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It provides friendship and companionship on a one to one basis between the person with dementia and a volunteer.

  An informal social group for both people with memory problems/dementia (under 65) and their families/carers. Outings and events arranged monthly around the county on varying dates. A contribution is sometimes required.
