- BME Dementia Cafe- Tower Hamlets
A social club for people from the Bengali community and who have dementia, as well as their families and carers. The cafe is facilitated in Sylheti and meets on the last Monday of every month, providing an opportunity for people affected by dementia to receive information, support and take part in various activities. Light lunch provided. - BME Dementia Inclusion Project- Tower Hamlets
The BME Dementia Inclusion project aims to raise awareness and promote understanding of dementia among Black and minority ethnic communities in Tower Hamlets. The service includes one to one support, providing information and guidance to people with dementia and their families. - Carers Information Events- Tower Hamlets
Information events for carers run once a month normally on the second Tuesday of every month. It covers subjects such as Stress Management, Healthy Eating, Housing options, communication and Power of Attorney. Event is run in the afternoon and repeated again in the evening. - Carers Support Service- Tower Hamlets
Advice, information and support for carers of people with dementia. Provides one to one advice sessions in office or at home. Signposting carers to other services and liaising with other professionals. Can be one off or ongoing support. - Dementia Adviser Service- Tower Hamlets
The dementia adviser service is primarily for people with dementia, as well as their supporters and carers. It provides them with a named contact throughout their journey with dementia. Referrals to the service may come from GPs, CMHTs, other health and social care professionals or self-referral. - Dementia Cafe- Tower Hamlets
Our Thursday coffee club is a social club for people with dementia, their families and carers, which meets on the first Thursday of every month. Provides an opportunity for people affected by dementia to receive information, support and take part in various activities. Light lunch provided. - Dementia Outreach Service- Tower Hamlets
Advice, information and support for people in the earlier stages of dementia. Supporting people with dementia to reduce isolation, increase confidence and manage the symptoms of dementia. One to one visits usually home visits. Can be one-off or ongoing. - Memory Group- Tower Hamlets
A monthly group for people in the early stages. The meeting can be either social, practical or support for people to learn about and share ideas about living with dementia. The group is held on the last Wednesday of every month. - Newsletter -Tower Hamlets
A bi-annual newsletter to inform people about Alzheimer's Society's local activities in Tower Hamlets, plus other relevant information. - Younger People with dementia support service- Tower Hamlets
A project to assess the needs of younger people with dementia and their carers to find out what local services they would like. One to one support, advice and information for younger people with dementia and their carers. YPWD social groups normally meets in the middle of every month, on a Wednesday and do all sorts of different things.
