Services offered

  • Merton Activity Club
    An activity club for people with dementia and their carers. These sessions run on the 3rd Friday of the month and include fun activity days and day trips.
  • Merton Awareness Raising
    Raising awareness and understanding of dementia in the community through talks, presentations, information stands, forums, media articles and access to a library of factsheets, books and dvds.
  • Merton Carers Information & Support Programme (CrISP)
    A series of four workshops providing information and support to carers. Including: Understanding dementia; Legal & money matters; Support services; & Coping day to day.
  • Merton Dementia Support Service
    A service providing information, support, signposting and enabling social engagement for people with dementia and their carers
  • Merton Dementia Workshops
    Full & half day sessions covering understanding dementia and communication
  • Merton Exercise Class
    Chair based exercise led by a qualified instructor aimed at improving mobility, movement and strength, followed by light refreshments
  • Merton Rainbow Club
    The Rainbow Club, a support group for people with dementia and their carers to receive information, support, light lunch and social activities.
  • Sutton & Merton Day Time Support Group for Carers
    A monthly peer support group for carers to come together during the day time to talk freely and share tips and information. The sessions are run with Carers Support Merton.
  • Sutton & Merton Dementia Forums
    Two dementia Forums are held each year to raise awareness and understanding of dementia, promote local services and developments and enable service users, professionals and volunteers to network and engage.
  • Sutton & Merton Evening Support Group for Carers
    A friendly and informal monthly meeting where carers and former carers support each other with tips and ideas about the caring role. Sessions also include occasional speakers.
  • Sutton & Merton Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)
    Carers who experience common problems such as anxiety & depression. The service provides group and individual support, self help materials, computer-based therapies and information about other useful services.

  • Sutton & Merton Younger People with dementia Support Group
    A monthly support group where younger people with dementia and their carers can meet, chat, share information and enjoy activities and light lunch

    A series of four workshops providng information and support to people diagnosed with dementia. Including: Understanding dementia; Memory techniques; Strategies and support; & Coping day to day and next steps.
  • Sutton Lunch Club
    A freshly cooked 2 course meal followed by a group activity. Information and support are also provided.
  • Sutton Memory Lane Cafe
    A meeting place for people with dementia, carers, other family members, and people worried about their memory to come together in a relaxed atmosphere to get information and support, talk freely about dementia and enjoy entertainment / activities with a light lunch. The cafe is held on the first and third Saturday of the month.
  • Sutton Singing for the Brain
    The Singing for the Brain service aims to: •provice a structured group session for people with dementia and their carers designed around the principles of music therapy and singing. The Singing for the Brain sessions are planned to incorporate social interaction, peer support, engagement and active participation. •help families with dementia feel part of society where they have a right to artistic and social stimulation. •encourage carers and people with dementia to be play an active part in networking with others in the same position as themselves.
