Services offered

  • Carers Support Group - Islington
    An opportunity for friends and family members of people with dementia to meet others in a similar situation and share experiences, feelings and ideas in a supportive environment. Guest speakers are also often invited to discuss various topics and local services.
  • Cecelia's Cafe - Islington
    A welcoming space for people with dementia and their carers to come, meet other people, enjoy activities, lunch, music, song and dance. Information provision is also part of the service.
  • Dementia Adviser Service - Islington
    The Dementia Adviser Service is primarily for people with dementia, who have recently received their diagnosis as well as their supporters and carers. It provides them with a named contact throughout their journey with dementia. The service provides relevant, accessible and quality information. This also includes signposting to other relevant local services for additional support. Referrals to the service may come from GPs, Services for Ageing and Mental Health, other health and social care professionals, community and voluntary organisations or through self-referral.
  • Dementia Support Service - Islington
    One-to-one support, information and guidance by phone, email or face-to-face for people with dementia and/or their carers at home or in another accessible location. This service provides on-going support to individuals especially carers and families.
  • Information Provision - Islington
    Information, advice and signposting for people with dementia, carers, professionals and others through telephone calls, letter or email. Information also provided through Dementia Awareness Talks and Information Stalls at community, health or social care events.
  • Singing for the Brain - Islington
    This group is for stimulating the brain through music, actions and song. Led by a trained singing leader small percussion instruments are also introduced to aid coordination and rhythm. This friendly and supportive group also gives people a chance to meet and share experiences. The group meets weekly and is open to people with dementia and their carers. Refreshments are provided and non-singers are also most welcome.
  • Social Events - Islington
    Social events are in addition to the rest of our services and are organised on an ad hoc basis
