Services offered

  • Carers Education Group
    A programme of eight sessions, run weekly to give information about dementia generally, and advice on legal, emotional and practical matters.
  • Carers Support Group
    An informal meeting open to anyone caring for somone with dementia. It provides an opportunity for carers to share experiences and feelings. Staff provide information and guidance about help and support available.
  • Day Support Groups
    The Day Support Groups provide a stimulating and sociable environment for people with dementia and their carers. Information and guidance is provided by staff. Occasional trips are organised. Groups are held at various locations across the borough. We also provide a Day Support Group tailored specifically at maintaining younger people's skills and interests by providing meaningful, age appropriate activities.   • Drop in
    A drop in cafe for people with dementia and carers who are not currently receving another service from the branch.
  • Information Provision
    Information on dementia with guidance on how to obtain help with care.
  • Social events
    Ad hoc events and outings, please contact the branch for more information.
  • Support for people with dementia and their carers
    Information and support from trained workers by telephone, and including referral to other services. By appointment only.
  • The Lifestyles Project
    The project aims to maintain younger people's skills and interests by providing meaningful, age appropriate activities. Enhancing the well being of the younger person with dementia and their carer.
