- Active One-2-One Service - Tendring
This service provides a Leisure and Wellbeing Worker to visit a person in the earlier stages of dementia on a regular weekly/fortnightly basis undertaking social and leisure activities of their choice in the home and community. Assessment for this service is through the Dementia Support Workers. - Carers Support Group - Holland-on-Sea
A peer support group for carers of all ages who care for a person with dementia. Providing information and support, the group meets on the second Tuesday of each month 10.30 am - 12.15 pm at the Tendring Specialist Stroke Services Hall in Holland-on-Sea. Please contact the Clacton office for further information. - Dementia Cafe - Clacton-on-Sea
An informal weekly session held every Wednesday morning between 10.00 and 12.00 at Sam's Hall, Imperial House, Rosemary Road, Clacton on Sea - available for information and support, it is open to anyone who is affected by dementia, including people diagnosed with dementia, carers and people concerned about their own memory. The cafe is also available to those who are involved in dementia care. No appointment is necessary. - Dementia Support - Tendring
Dementia support workers offer information and support to people with any form of dementia, their carers and families either by a home visit or a meeting at the office in Clacton or another venue. Dementia support staff are able to give information on other local services available. - Information Provision - Tendring
Information can be given over the telephone or in person, by letter or email on any aspect of concern relating to dementia and caring. This service is also available to statutory and voluntary organisations - Peer Support Group - Harwich
A group for people with dementia and their carers to attend together for information and support in an informal supportive setting. The group meets on the first Wednesday of the month at the 1912 Centre in Harwich 2.00-4.00 pm. Please contact the Clacton office for further details. - Peer Support Group - Holland on Sea
An informal peer support group for people of all ages with dementia and their carers. A variety of activities are organised to encourage participation by all with the emphasis on peer support. The group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Tendring Specialist Stroke Services Hall between 1.30 and 3.15 pm. A Singing for the Brain Service is now running in the Tendring area. Groups are open to all people with dementia and their carers to socialise and enjoy singing together within a fun and supportive atmosphere. Weekly sessions take place in Jaywick Community Centre on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 am - 12 noon. - Singing for the Brain - Lawford
A Singing for the Brain service is now running in the Tendring area. Groups are open to all people with dementia and their carers to socialise and enjoy singing together within a fun and supportive atmosphere. Weekly sessions take place in Lawford (near Manningtree) on Thursday afternoons between 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm at the Venture Centre. Please contact the Tendring office for further details.
