- Care to Talk
The carers support groups are held on the first Wednesday of each month. They run alongside our Rest a While Service at St Andrews Church Hall, The Stow, Harlow. People with dementia are welcome to join the Rest a While service whilst the carer meets with other carers. - CrISP information Programme
5 week information course for carers whose relatives have recently been diagnosed with dementia. The first week is a one hour introductory session to enable people to get to know each other and the facilitator, and the four subsequent weeks offer 3 hour sessions, which will increase the knowledge and skills to help them to support their relative or friend with dementia. - Dementia Support
Dedicated members of staff providing support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families whether in their own homes or other locations. - Dementia support in memory clinics
Dementia support workers are based within the memory clinics to offer immediate support and information following diagnosis. They will follow up by offering information and support through home visits, if requested. - Information Provision
Provides a first point of call by providing a mix of a telephone answering service, information packs, leaflets and publications. Onwards referral to Dementia Support Worker. - Leisure and Well Being Service
To support people with dementia and/or carers by providing the opportunity to participate in leisure activities of their choice. The service aims to enhance wellbeing by providing opportunity and choice of leisure activities that promote enjoyment and achievement. - Leisure and Well Being Service for younger people
The service takes place every Friday between 9.30 am and 4 pm. People meet at a pre-arranged venue in Harlow and then venture out for the day to places the group would like to attend. People who have been diagnosed with dementia who are under 65 years old can meet up in a small group and undertake social activities appropriate to people of a younger age group, venturing far and wide, whilst enjoying each other's company. - Memory Cafe
The cafe is run on a Monday between 10 am and 12 noon at Moot House, The Stow, Harlow, CM20 3AG - Memory Cafe for People with Young Onset Dementia and their carers
The monthly sessions are held on the last Tuesday of each month between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Open to people with young onset dementia and their carers. Please contact the service office for date of next meeting. - Rest a While
A day support service held on Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30am to 2pm, which offers activities and social interaction for people with dementia and a short respite break for their carers. Please contact the service office for further information.
