- Dementia Support Line - Luton
A dementia support phone service for people with dementia, their carers, family members and professionals to obtain support, information about dementia and services available to help them, and to be referred to a Dementia Support Worker for further help and support where required. Please contact 01234 327380. - Home Support Service - Luton
This service provides skilled specialist support for the person with dementia in their own home and in the community. Home Support Workers support the person with dementia through social interaction, participation in social activities, maintenance of their skills, and help with trips out for everyday living. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Individuals and carers can self-refer or be referred via Social Services. There is an hourly charge for this service. - Memory Assessment Clinic - Luton
For people with memory problems who have been referred to the Memory Assessment Clinic by their GP. After consultation and diagnosis by the consultant, there is an opportunity to speak to one of our Dementia Support Workers, to obtain support and information. Time limited group of 10 sessions, offering activities and support for people living with dementia and their carers. Suitable for people with dementia who can participate in discussions, activities, table games etc. Every Wednesday at Hightown Church, Luton, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Dementia Information Points offering dementia specific information to anyone with concerns about their own memory or the memory of another person. Every Wednesday at Lewsley Farm Community Centre, Luton from 10am to 12pm. Every Thursday at Bury Park Community Centre, Luton from 12pm to 2pm. From Tuesday 6th November 2012 for 5 weeks, every Tuesday at Farley Hill Community Centre, Luton from 12pm to 2pm. Please contact the office for further details, dates and venues.
