  • Carer Information and Support Programme - Bedford Borough
    Course for carers of a person with a recent diagnosis of dementia. 5 sessions over 5 weeks covering: introduction, understanding dementia, legal and financial matters, how to support a person with dementia, developing communication techniques, local services available, managing stress, and the importance of carers looking after themselves. Please contact the office for details on upcoming dates and venues, and to book your place.
  • Carers Peer Support Group - Bedford
    Weekly follow up group for carers attending the CRISP course run from 24th September to 22nd October 2012. To explore and expand themes from the CRISP course, and to provide opportunities for peer support. There is a cognitive stimulation group running at the same time and venue that people living with dementia can attend. Service commences Monday 5th November 2012 for 12 weeks - 10am to 12pm every Monday, at Dame Alice Court, Bedford. Please contact the office for further details and to book your place.
  • Cognitive Stimulation Group - Bedford Borough
    Cognitive Stimulation Group for people in the early to moderate stages of dementia; providing a supportive community, and a range of planned cognitive and stimulating activities. Next weekly group commences 5th November 2012 for 12 weeks, from 10am to 12pm at Dame Alice Court, Bedford. Please contact the office for further details and to book your place.
  • Dementia Information Point - Bedford Library
    Dementia Information Point offering dementia specific information to anyone with concerns about their memory, or the memory of another person. Every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm at the Bedford Library, Harpur Street, Bedford. From January 2013 this will be on the third Wednesday of the month only, from 10am to 12pm.
  • Dementia Information Point - Dunstable
    First and third Monday of every month at Dunstable Library, 10am to 12pm. Dedicated Dementia Support Workers offering support and information to people with dementia, their carers and family. Available information includes our services and to signpost people to other agencies that may be able to help. Please contact the office for further details.
  • Dementia Information Point - Flitwick
    Service commences 13th December 2012, then second and fourth Thursday of every month at Flitwick Library, from 2pm to 4pm. Dedicated Dementia Support Workers offering support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families. Available information includes our services and signposting to other agencies that may be able to help.
  • Dementia Information Point - Kempston
    Dementia Information Point offering dementia specific information to anyone with concerns about their memory, or the memory of another person. Re-commencing 9th January 2013, on the second Wednesday of every month, from 2pm to 4pm.
  • Dementia Information Point - Leighton Buzzard
    Dementia Information Point on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Leighton Buzzard Library, 10am to 12pm. Dedicated Dementia Support Workers offer support and information to people with dementia, their carers and family. Available information includes our services and to signpost people to other agencies that may be able to help. Please contact the office for further details.
  • Dementia Information Point - Putnoe Library
    Dementia Information Point offering dementia specific information to anyone with concerns about their memory or the memory of another person. Commencing 22nd January 2013, then the fourth Tuesday of every month, from 10am to 12pm at Putnoe Library, Library Walk, Putnoe, Bedford.
  • Dementia Information Point - Queens Park
    Dementia Information Point offering dementia specific information to anyone with concerns about their memory, or the memory of another person. At Queens Park Community Centre, Marlborough Road, Bedford. Every other Thursday from 24th May 2012, from 2pm to 3.30pm. Every other Friday from 18th May 2012, from 10am to 12pm.
  • Dementia Information Point - Sandy
    Dementia Information Point on second and fourth Friday of every month at Sandy Library from 10am to 12pm. Dedicated Dementia Support Workers offering support and information to people with dementia, their carers and family.   • Dementia Information Point - Shefford
    Dementia Information Point on first and third Friday of every month from 10am to 12pm at Shefford Library. Dedicated Dementia Support Workers offering support and information to people with dementia, their carers and family. Available information includes our services and to signpost people to other agencies that may be able to help. Please contact the office for further details.
  • Dementia Information Point - Wootton
    Providing emotional, practical support and information to people who have memory problems, their carers and families. First monday of the month, from 3pm to 5pm, at Wootton Library, Beds.
  • Dementia Support Line - Bedfordshire
    A dementia support phone service for people with dementia, their carers, family members and professionals to obtain support, information about dementia and services available to help them, and to be referred to a Dementia Support Worker for further help and support where required. Please contact 01234 327380.
  • Focus Group - Chalgrave
    Discussion group for carers and people with dementia, held every 2 months. There are also activities for people with dementia to take part in whilst the focus group runs, if they do not wish to partake in the focus group. Please contact the office for further details and to book your place.
  • Home Support Service - Bedfordshire
    This service provides skilled specialist support for the person with dementia in their own home and in the community. Home Support Workers support the person with dementia with social interaction, participation in social activities, maintenance of their skills, and help with trips out for everyday living. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Individuals and carers can self-refer or be referred via Social Services. There is an hourly charge for this service.
  • Memory Assessment Clinic - Bedford
    For people with memory problems who have been referred to the Memory Assessment Clinic by their GP. After consultation and diagnosis by the consultant there is an opportunity to speak to one of our Dementia Support Workers to provide support and information.
  • Memory Assessment Clinic - Houghton Regis
    For people with memory problems who have been referred to the Memory Assessment Clinic by their GP. After consultation and diagnosis by the consultant there is an opportunity to speak to one of our Dementia Support Workers to provide support and information.
  • Music for Memory - Bedford
    Weekly group for people living with dementia and their carers, to sing and make music together, whether you are musical or not. Come and help stimulate your mind and memory through music and laughter. Takes place every Friday from 10am to 12pm at the Community Centre, Marlborough Road, Queens Park, Bedford, MK40 4LF. A smaller group session is also available instead, every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm, at The Parish Room, All Saints Church, Westbourne Road, Queens Park, Bedford, MK40 4LD. Please note we ask for a contibution of £3 per person per session to help cover running costs.

Suitable for people with dementia who can participate in discussions, activities and table games. Every Thursday from 10am to 12pm at Dame Alice Court, Newnham Street, Bedford.   • Peer Support Group - Gordon Colling House
    A peer support group for carers and people living with dementia. Those affected by dementia who live at Gordon Colling House are welcome to attend, as well as those living within the community with a diagnosis and their carers. Every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm, at Gordon Colling House, Bamford Road, Bedford.
  • Peer Support Group - Leighton Buzzard
    Time limited group of 10 sessions, offering activities and support for people living with dementia and their carers. Suitable for people with dementia who can participate in discussions, activities, table games etc. Held on second and fourth Monday of each month at St Leonard's Church, Heath and Reach, 10.30am to 12.30pm.     Dementia Information Points at various locations throughout Bedford Borough, providing information and support about all aspects of dementia, to people living with dementia, their carers and relatives. Upcoming dates: 27th November 2012, 10am to 12pm - Sir William Harpur House, Bedford. 6th December 2012, 10am to 12pm - Wootton The Hub, Cause End Road, Wootton, Beds.
  • Roaming Dementia Information Points - Central Bedfordshire
    Dementia Information Points at various locations in Central Bedfordshire, offering dementia specific information to anyone with concerns about their own memory or the memory of another person. Upcoming dates: Barton-le-Clay Surgery - Wednesday 7th November 2012 , from 2pm to 6pm. Toddington Library - Thursday 29th November 2012, from 10am to 12pm. Biggleswade Library - Friday 29th March 2013, from 10am to 12pm.
  • Singing for the Brain - Biggleswade
    A relaxed and friendly group activity, which brings the joy and stimulation of singing to those with the memory problems associated with dementia, through song and gentle movements. Takes place every Wednesday, from 10.30am to 12pm, at St Sndrew's Church, Shortmead Street, Biggleswade.
  • Singing for the Brain - Flitwick
    A relaxed and friendly group activity, which brings the joy and stimulation of singing to those with the memory problems associated with dementia, through song and gentle movements. Takes place every Tuesday, from 2pm to 3.30pm, at Flitwick Village Hall, Dunstable Road, Flitwick.
  • Singing for the Brain - Leighton Buzzard
