A 5 week training course, delivered by sociwty employees to help carers of people newly diagnosed with dementia to understand and cope with the effects of dementia - Dementia Adviser, Lancaster & Morecambe
The dementia adviser provides information and advice to people diagnosed with dementia. At every stage of the journey from diagnosis they with be there to give you the information you need. They will also tell you about the services in your area which can support you and your family. - Dementia Cafe - Lancaster and Morecambe
These are monthly meetings to encourage peer support amongst people with dementia and their carers/relatives - Dementia Resource Service - Morecambe
Providing the first point of contact for people with dementia, carers, professionals and general public. by providing a mix of telephone answering service, information packs, leaflets and other publications, visits and appointments. Also provision of carer support groups, one to one emotional support, education and training. - Dementia Support - Lancaster and Morecambe
Dementia Support includes outreach, family support, information and advice. The dementia support worker will advise and talk to carers by telephone or home visits and signpost them to the correct areas to receive the help they need. - Dementia Support at Home - Lancaster and Morecambe
Trained Home Support Workers giving one to one specialised support to people with severe and enduring levels of dementia. Providing respite for their carers if relevant.
