Welcome to the Bristol and South Gloucestershire branch of the Alzheimer's Society.

The branch is run by a dedicated professional team of both paid and volunteer staff, that include a volunteer committee, which has vast experience in dementia care.

We have been giving support to people with dementia and their families for over 20 years.

Although the name suggests we only support those with Alzheimer's disease we do in fact support carers and those diagnosed with any form of dementia.

We have an Information Officer based in Bristol that will help people find the right support for their needs whether from Alzheimer's Society or from other agencies.

Our branch office is based in Kingswood.

Training Material

• Are you studying medicine or nursing and would like to know more about dementia? Our information Office has a range of DVD's, Video's, Books and Leaflets that cover all forms of dementia and dementia care.

• Our Information Officer is available to give talks to groups on the work of the Alzheimer's Society. Please see the section entitled Information Office.

We run a telephone Information and Support Line and offer support for carers through Carer Support Groups, Social Drop-Ins and the Befriending scheme.

We provide extended Day Care for younger people with dementia.

We publish a quarterly Newsletter for people who are affected by dementia in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area.
