Volunteer at Tour de Yorkshire

Tour de Yorkshire 2017

If you would like to volunteer at Tour de Yorkshire 2017, please email [email protected] with your name, address, contact number and the day and location you would like to join the bucket collection. The support of our volunteers enables us to put on the best events possible to raise money for a world without dementia.

Why we need you?

Our team of over 1000 volunteers are vital to the success of our activities as the charity partner of the Tour de Yorkshire. Without our incredible volunteers our event simply couldn’t happen.

What will I be doing?

Collection tin coordinator

As a collection coordinator you will be responsible for the placement of collection tins in local businesses pre Tour de Yorkshire.

Fundraising events volunteer

Support with bucket collecting along the route on any or all of the race days.

Fundraising support volunteer

As a Tour De Yorkshire Charity Champion you will be responsible for the coordination of volunteers in your town or village. You will be supporting volunteers to place collection tins in the local area in the run up to the event and coordinating the bucket collection as the race passes through your area. You will also help to recruit other collectors to join your local team. We will provide you with the support and materials you need for your role!

Please see the full role descriptions for more information. Please note that these descriptions are general, and more role- and event-specific information will be provided by the Tour de Yorkshire team.

How much time will I have to commit?

More details on the time commitment on the day will be available closer to the event and will be communicated in future emails and contact from our volunteer coordinators.

What support will I be given?

You will receive updates from the Tour de Yorkshire team in the lead up to the event which will provide you with everything you need to know before event day including:

  • Role specific information
  • Contact details of your Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer FAQs which will include all you need to know about the event
  • Instructions of where and when you need to arrive
  • Details on where to return your bucket and donations collected

What are the benefits?

You will be a central part of our fundraising effort for the Tour de Yorkshire partnership, collecting together for a world without dementia. At the event, you have the chance to meet new and like-minded people whilst having a great day out. Volunteering at the event also provides you with new skills and experiences to take into your personal and professional life.

How do I sign up?

If you would like to join our team of amazing volunteers for next year please email [email protected] with your name, address, contact number and the day and location you would like to join the bucket collection. We will ensure that you have all of the information and materials you need for a great day!

We'd like to volunteer as a group?

  • If you are part of a team eager to help, we would love for you to come along – the more the merrier!
  • Over 18s
  • If you are all over the age of 18, simply sign up as individuals now.

We are a youth group and would like to volunteer

All youth groups must have a leader (aged over 18) who is responsible for the group on the day of the event. If you are the leader, send us a quick email including the name of the group, how many of you would like to volunteer and town/area that you would like to volunteer at. We will then be in touch to arm you with everything you need to do. Please send your email to [email protected].

How old do I need to be to register?

You can only register to volunteer online if you are over the age of 18.

Under 18s - We will need you to download and fill out our paper application form and parental consent form. We do not need references so please leave this section of the form blank. Email these back to the Tour de Yorkshire team and we will be in touch closer to the event day.

Under 16s - If you are under the age of 16, you will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the day. As a parent or guardian of someone under the age of 16, simply complete the online registration form now.
