Terry's Alzheimer's Society Wing Walk

‘It was a brilliant experience and it is a charity dear to my heart. I wanted to help raise funds and awareness of Alzheimer’s Society so others get involved and support people living with dementia.'

On Tuesday 12 July one of our fabulous volunteers, Terry Bayliss from Hereford, took to the skies to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Terry took on the challenge of completing a wing walk to help raise awareness of our charity and the fantastic services we have to support people living with dementia. Terry was given training on the day and eventually was strapped to a bi-plane and flew at speeds of 135mph.

Terry is a retired postman and sent 4000 letters out to the community asking for support for his sponsorship. He was overwhelmed by the donations that came in for his event and so far he has helped to raise over £1000 for people living with dementia.

Terry says:

‘It was a brilliant experience and it is a charity dear to my heart.  I wanted to help raise funds and awareness of Alzheimer’s Society so more people get involved and support people living with dementia.’
