The Great North Run is the biggest half marathon in the World with over 57,000 runners taking part in the famous 13.1 mile event. The course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields.

The Great North Run general entry ballot is now open.  Make sure to enter through the Great North Run website before Monday 6 February and choose to run for Alzheimer's Society!

Our charity places in the Great North Run will open after the general entry ballot closes on Monday 6 February. You can register your interest to be the first to know as soon as they do. 

By joining Team Alzheimer's Society with a charity or ballot place, you'll receive the best support from the moment you sign up until you cross the finish line. We will provide you with:

  • A free Alzheimer's Society fundraising pack including a fundraising guide, a training schedule and nutritional advice
