Our partnership with Lloyds Banking Group
We are thrilled that Lloyds Banking Group has chosen Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland as its Charity of the Year Partner for 2013 and 2014.
Chosen by a Lloyds Banking Group colleague vote, the funds raised during the partnership will help us to launch 'Live Well' - our first UK-wide dementia carers programme. This pioneering campaign will provide life-changing support for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Throughout the next two years Lloyds Banking Group employees will be taking part in a huge range of fundraising activities, including bespoke overseas challenges as well as runs, cycles and office based fundraising. Having raised over £3.7million for their previous partner, we are confident that we will hit our fundraising target of £2 million, which will enable us to help 9000 carers through the Live Well programme.
We are also grateful for the time and expertise volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group will bring to the Society.
Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive at Alzheimer's Society, said:
'We're delighted to have been chosen as the next Charity of the Year for Lloyds Banking Group. One in three people over 65 will develop dementia. Money raised from the partnership will help thousands of people with dementia and their carers access the knowledge and support they need to have the best possible quality of life.'
