Take part in research

Many dementia research studies rely on the participation of volunteers, including people with dementia, carers and those with a general interest.

How can I take part in dementia research?

There are many different types of study that people can take part in. It could be a full-scale clinical trial, a genetic research study that requires a blood test or a survey or focus group asking for your experiences of dementia or asking about your lifestyle.

How will taking part in research help?

Taking part in research gives people the opportunity to make a difference for the future. The contributions of participants can help to improve our understanding of dementia, help to develop new treatments or help to improve the care available for people living with dementia.
