Former Manchester United coach, Eric Harrison, has died

Eric Harrison, former Manchester United coach, who supported the likes of David Beckham, has died. He was living with dementia, after being diagnosed four years ago.

Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive at Alzheimer’s Society, says:

'We are saddened to hear that former Manchester United coach, and mentor to the club’s famous Class of ’92, Eric Harrison, has died aged 81.

'Eric’s grandson, Joe, cycled from London to Brighton for Alzheimer’s Society to honour his grandad who had dementia, raising funds to help transform the lives of everyone affected by dementia, through support and creating lasting change for the 850,000 people in the UK living with the condition.

Our thoughts are with Eric’s family, friends and the football community at this sad time.'
